Frequently asked questions
My child is in the Junior cohort but is more advanced, can I put them in the Senior cohort?
Yes! Please reach out to us ahead of time to discuss, but we are happy to move students up or down a level. If your student is 6 or 7 and would be better suited for the Senior-level activities, we are happy to move them. If you have multiple children enrolled, and a younger sibling would like to shadow their older sibling, we are happy to keep them in the same group.
For the circuit building component, is there any danger of electrical shock?
We require all students to sign a waiver outlining a small risk of electrical shock, however, there is no danger to your child. Our circuits are limited to 5-volts, and we use in-house circuit controllers that detect short circuits and clamp the power. In the event your child was shocked, they probably wouldn't even notice it, due to the low voltage. At worst, it might be like the kind of static shock you feel after jumping on a trampoline or playing with balloons.
We hold ourselves to a very high standard of electrical safety. A combination of low-voltage and circuit protection equipment ensures this.
How many adults will be present?
Our camps always have 2-3 adults present at a minimum, and an additional 2-5 highschool volunteers. Students are never alone 1-on-1 with an adult or volunteer, and we require all staff to undergo an OPP Vulnerable Sector Check.
Do you have volunteer opportunities available?
Absolutely yes! We are always looking for adult and teenage volunteers. We have lots of roles to fill, from admin, to camp counselors, to programming and more.
If you'd like to volunteer, please email Noah at noah@bigfingames.com
As a parent, can I hang around during the event?
Yes with limitations. We will do our best to provide a seating area for parents & family within our rented space. Most of our venues have seating nearby if you'd like to hang around and check-in, but we can't promise we will have enough seating in our rented space for all parents to be present for the full event.
If you'd like to be a parent volunteer for one of our events, please email noah@bigfingames.com
If my child has an issue during the event, or I have an emergency, who do I contact?
Please call Noah Lehman (705)927-3230 for any emergencies.
For instances of bullying, or other concerns and feedback about our programming, please text or email Noah:
